It's Sunday! Sunday update time!

Right! Banbury news time.

The Battle of the Bands 'Our Band Rules' organised by Touch FM took place at the Mill last night.
Four local bands of 12-16 year olds took part;

Flammable Material ~ Rock & punk covers including Pink Floyd, Green Day and R.E.M
The Everything ~ Snarly rock covers including RATM, the Hives and Blur
Simplicity [link] ~ Original indie-rock in the vein of Kooks, Oasis & Arctic Monkeys
Soverin [link] ~ Original rock influenced by Incubus, Audioslave, RHCP
(If anyone has web links for the other two please get in touch!)
All bands played a half-hour set in the Millers bar.

The winning band was Soverin, getting a recording session at Pangea Studios in Banbury, and a chance to play at a youth music festival being organised later this year.

In other news...
Organisation for Stevfest 2007 [link] is underway, and still looking for bands to take part! If you haven't already, submit your band's name and website to the bands section of the website.

Hopefully the festival will be held at Broughton Castle. I'm helping out on the Youth Music side of things, so if you have any questions or ideas for the festival let me know and I'll pass them on!

And...
One man music-machine Zube [link] is looking for musicians to complete his new project. Anyone interested in 60's Beach Boys style psychedelic-rock should get in touch via Myspace!

And that's all, folks! Remember to sign up to our mailing list over yonder>>> and tell your friends to check out the site!

Have a good'un!
